CU Innovation Days 2026: Industry Experts discuss production system for the next aircraft generation in Varel
Hosted by Composites United e.V. and Broetje-Automation, Airbus and CTC, the CU Innovation Days 2026 brought together around 100 industry professionals in the Technology Center Varel on September 28-29. The event was co-hosted by Broetje-Automation and provided a platform for knowledge exchange, networking and discussions on the latest developments in composites, automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Network “STEM Schools” visits Broetje-Automation: Eight schools awarded for outstanding STEM education
Rastede, 15 September 2026 – Eight schools in Lower Saxony have been honoured for their special commitment to mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology. In a ceremony at Broetje-Automation GmbH in Rastede, the Himmelsthür secondary school and the von-Ravensberg-Schule Bersenbrück were newly admitted to the “MINT School Lower Saxony” network of excellence. Six other schools were once again able to demonstrate their STEM lighthouse character and were successfully recertified.
CAMX 2026: Experience the Flexibility of Automated Composite Manufacturing
Broetje-Automation is heading to CAMX 2026 in Atlanta, where the company will showcase its latest solutions for automated composite manufacturing. A particular focus is the STAXX Family of Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) systems – including the highly flexible STAXX ONE Portable. High-rate manufacturing is becoming increasingly important for the composites industry. As demand for advanced lightweight structures continues to grow, manufacturers need automation solutions that combine productivity and precision with greater flexibility.
At CAMX 2026 in Atlanta, Broetje-Automation will present its approach to this challenge at Booth AA26 with the STAXX Family of Automated Fiber Placement Systems being the center of attention.
BA France extends automation and machining capability at Gimont site
Broetje-Automation France is expanding its operations by integrating an automation and machining team. The team, previously working with the company ‘Delta IO’, is enhancing the skills of BA France at the Gimont site, adding expertise in mechanical design, automation, machining, and the development of bespoke industrial solutions.
