Today, the “ZukunftsFest” – a hybrid event of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, Labor, Transport and Digitalization and the Demography Agency – took place at the Old Town Hall in Hanover. On behalf of Minister Dr. Bernd Althusmann, Dr. Berend Lindner, State Secretary at the Ministry, awarded 32 organizations for outstanding, employee-oriented measures to shape digital and demographic change with the “Zukunftsfest” certificate from the state of Lower Saxony. Broetje-Automation was re-certified after a two-year implementation phase of numerous measures.
Roland Hansen, Executive Vice President Human Resources at Broetje-Automation emphasizes the progress achieved through the certification: “By participating in the certification process since 2019, we have been able to more actively perceive and strengthen the pillars of a future-proof company. They are a contribution to positioning us as an attractive employer in Lower Saxony. For us, the award means first and foremost a positive confirmation of the path we have taken and at the same time is an incentive for the continuous improvement of the individual elements.”
At the heart of the measures is close cooperation between management and employees in order to jointly tackle and successfully shape the challenges posed to the company by social developments such as digitization or demographic change. “Right at the start of the Covid 19 pandemic, our employees helped shape our future through participation with a high level of involvement in an internal ideas competition and protected their own and their colleagues’ health in the best possible way through the almost 100% uptake of our company Covid 19 vaccination offer,” something we are particularly proud of, Hansen said.
Lower Saxony’s Minister of Labor and Digitalization, Dr. Bernd Althusmann, praised the organizations’ commitment to becoming digitally future-proof: “I am convinced that the future of many companies lies in digitalization. It is an opportunity to cope with demographic change and an important tool for a climate-neutral economy. Those who are already facing up to these challenges together with their employees deserve recognition and praise. I am therefore particularly pleased that 32 companies from Lower Saxony were awarded the certificate.”
With the “Zukunftsfest” certificate, the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, Labor, Transport and Digitalization and the Demography Agency for Business GmbH award Lower Saxony companies and administrations that actively face current challenges with regard to digitalization, sustainability and demographic change and implement successful measures. Since 2020, the award has distinguished between the two categories named above. The basis for participation in the certification is the “FutureCheck”. During a personal meeting, the demography agency works with the companies to determine the current status quo regarding the future viability of the organization, makes recommendations for action and advises on further offers. The annual highlight is the high-profile award at the “FutureFest” – it brings confirmation, recognition and motivation.
