By participating in the EcoVadis Rating, Broetje-Automation is responding specifically to the increasing sustainability requirements of customers, partners, and markets. At the same time, the company is creating a solid foundation for systematically evaluating, further developing, and transparently communicating its own sustainability performance.
“The award shows that we are on the right track with our sustainability strategy. Together with our customers and partners along value chain, we are working to continuously develop further on this basis,” explains Wiebke Blankemeyer, Sustainability Manager at Broetje-Automation. “The rating confirms that we are on the right path towards sustainable business practices with our measures based on technological developments, organizational excellence, targeted empowerment, and environmental improvement projects.”

EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading platforms for assessing the sustainability performance of companies. Its methodology is based on international standards such as the UN Global Compact principles, the OECD guidelines, and the ISO 26000 standard.

Companies are assessed in four key areas:

• Environment
• Labor & Human Rights
• Ethics
• Sustainable Procurement

The assessment is based on detailed questionnaires and extensive evidence, guidelines, key figures, and processes. Participation therefore represents a comprehensive, cross-functional task involving numerous departments and specialist areas.

The bronze medal confirms that Broetje-Automation already has a solid and structured foundation in sustainability management. It shows that essential measures, processes, and responsibilities are in place and comply with international assessment standards.
At the same time, the EcoVadis result provides valuable transparency about areas where there is further potential for development. Broetje-Automation uses these findings to further expand existing activities, define new measures, and continuously improve its sustainability performance.

For Broetje-Automation, sustainability is not a one-off project, but a long-term, strategic development process that has been firmly anchored in the company’s strategy for more than five years. The company’s first participation in the EcoVadis rating and the bronze award it achieved mark an important milestone.
The company has a clear goal of consistently improving its sustainability performance in the coming years and achieving higher awards such as silver, gold, or platinum in the future—in line with the expectations of its customers, legal requirements, and its own responsibility toward the environment and society.
