SOUL OLPS User Meeting 2025: More productivity and quality in NC programming and simulation

Content

Putting the customer at the centre – that is the idea behind the annual SOUL OLPS user meeting at Broetje-Automation. From 19 to 21 March, this year’s SOUL OLPS user meeting took place at the company’s headquarters in Rastede. The annual event is a valuable opportunity for in-depth discussions on current challenges and best practices in NC programming and simulation. In addition to sharing best practices, new features for the leading offline NC programming system were presented, including integration with the latest “3D Experience Platform” and the realisation of a comprehensive digital twin of machine, process and component.

With SOUL OLPS, Broetje-Automation has been offering a comprehensive NC offline programming system for a number of years, which has set new standards in productivity, quality and performance of NC systems. Due to the extremely accurate simulation of machines, processes and components in their interaction, the NC programming environment clearly outperforms the competition and has developed into an integral part and unique selling point not only in the field of riveting systems at Broetje-Automation. The system has also been used successfully on third-party systems and has shown better results than legacy solutions from day one.

One of the secrets of the success of Broetje-Automation’s software solution is the focus on concrete customer benefits without expensive additional solutions in a single, tailor-made software environment. The SOUL OLPS team therefore maintains a close and trustful exchange with the users on the customer side in order to tailor the software to the customer’s needs.

SOUL OLPS user meeting

For several years now, Broetje-Automation has been organising a SOUL OLPS user meeting, where the focus is on the exchange of experiences between developers and users of the software.

Successful application examples show how OLPS can be optimally used in different scenarios. In an atmosphere away from the day-to-day business, the event promotes intensive knowledge transfer from which all participants benefit and strengthens the direct exchange between users and the SOUL team.

The practical dialogue also helps to set clear priorities for the further development of the software. Particularly valuable was the direct feedback on the optimisation of the software interface and user-friendliness, which will now be incorporated into the further development of SOUL OLPS.

New functions, enhanced productivity

One of the features presented was the full integration of SOUL OLPS with Dassault’s 3D Experience platform, which is widely used in the aerospace industry. This means that users are already prepared for the latest generation of Catia software.
Another important development is the realisation of a fully integrated digital twin. Based on the latest generation of control and automation software from Siemens, SOUL enables complete virtual commissioning of plants. This saves valuable time on site and provides extensive opportunities for operator training. Software errors now account for one of the largest costs in commissioning new machines and systems. Virtual commissioning is therefore a milestone on the road to greater efficiency and productivity.

Impressive customer feedback

The feedback from participants has been overwhelming. “There is simply no better programming system than SOUL OLPS”. One attendee praised the team’s work. “Compared to other suppliers, we are up to four times more efficient in NC programming with SOUL OLPS – and the quality of the programs is better”. In particular, the accurate simulation of the programmes is proving to be an advantage for the users.
For the SOUL OLPS team at Broetje-Automation, this positive feedback is a nice recognition and confirmation of the work done so far. “The user meeting has once again confirmed how valuable the intensive exchange with users is and what added value it provides for the further development of our software,” says Anton Grebenscikov, Product Owner SOUL OLPS at Broetje-Automation. “We will now integrate the knowledge gained in the next steps into the further development of the software”.
Due to the consistently positive feedback and the great interest of the customers, the regular user meetings will be continued in order to continuously promote the exchange.
