Broetje-Automation delivers STAXX One Fiber Placement System to CTC Composite Technology Center Stade

Content

Broetje-Automation GmbH has delivered its highly innovative STAXX One Automated Fiber Placement Robot to the Composite Technology Center / CTC GmbH (An Airbus Company) in Stade, Germany. This advanced and automated fiber deposition system will be used in conjunction with the CTC and Airbus teams to create ecologically efficient and innovative composite structures, in support of a more sustainable future of mobility.

STAXX One AFP System

The STAXX ONE is a highly flexible, lightweight, and automated fiber placement end-effector that can be mounted on any standard industrial robot, making it ideal for creating complex parts. With the ability to support a wide range of materials including PrePreg, and Dry Fiber material, Thermoset and Thermoplastic Tows, it also features an optional heated layup table that can be equipped with an NC-controlled turning device.

Exceptional Flexibility

With the Siemens NC Controls and its modular cell concept, the STAXX One offers exceptional flexibility combined with industrial readiness, allowing for efficient production and cost-effective development. The system’s digital twin capability further enhances its efficiency, with a CAM system for offline programming based on 3D/2D CAD data, collision analysis, and simulation for both machine and layup concept. The STAXX One’s standardized system components and cost-efficient approach require no foundation, making it an accessible and practical solution for a range of applications.

Commitment to the Factory of The Future

With the delivery of the STAXX One to the CTC GmbH, Broetje-Automation GmbH has once again demonstrated its commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions to the aerospace industry.
